Chapter 1:  Installation

In this chapter:

1.6:  Troubleshooting

During installation, if you receive errors, make a careful note of what the error says.  Send the error (it helps to copy and paste) to eDatCat Support.

If your error states that the installer was unable to locate or create a directory, be sure that you have created the directories for data, carts, uploads, templates, and admin in the place you specified during setup.  Be sure also that these directories have 777 permissions.

If you specified that a directory was to be placed under another directory (i.e.- /images/uploads), be sure that the parent directory also has 777 permissions (this varies depending on your server config).

If your error states that the installer could not open the cgi-bin directory or could not create the cgi scripts, be sure that your cgi-bin has 777 permissions.   Don't worry, you can change the permissions of your cgi-bin back to the original setting once installation is complete.

If you receive an Internal Server Error, be sure that your installer has 755 permissions and that all of the required modules are installed correctly on your server.

IF you received a different error, be sure to copy it and send it to eDatCat Support.
