Chapter 2:  Program Configuration

In this chapter:

2.3: Base Preferences

Pricing Options

Select whether or not use you are using Retail, Wholesale, or both in regards to pricing for products.

How does this effect your catalog?

If you select Retail, then you must use the %%ret_price%% shortcut in your catalog templates.  This will display the retail price.

If you select Wholesale, you must use the %%whol_price%% shortcut in your catalog templates.  This will display the wholesale price.

If you select Both, then you must use the %%price%% shortcut in your catalog templates.  If the customer is a regular customer, they will see the retail price as they view your catalog.  If you want a customer to see the wholesale price, then you must note on their account status that they are a wholesale customer.  When that customer logs in, they will see the wholesale price for your products (they must be logged in to see wholesale prices.  If they are not logged in, they will see retail prices).

If you select Both, you may still use all three shortcuts in your templates.   For instance, if you wanted to display the retail price, the wholesale price, and the customer's price, you would construct your catalog template so that the price is reflected as:

Retail Price:  %%ret_price%%
Wholesale Price:  %%whol_price%%

Your price:  %%price%%

This would demonstrate the differences in your pricing and allow the customer to see the advantages of being a wholesaler for your business.

Currency Field Format

Enter the number of decimal places you wish to display in prices on your site.

Euro Exchange Rate

If you are using the Euro, enter an exchange rate in this field.  This rate will be used to divide the USD price to arrive at the Euro equivelant.
