Chapter 2: Program Configuration
In this chapter:
2.2: Program Settings
The Program Settings are designed to provide EDatCat with the following information:
Admin Access Permissions |
Top-Level Password
The top-level password for the primary admin can be changed.
2nd Level password
In addition, a secondary login can be created and provided with limited
access to the admin area. When you set a secondary login, EDatCat will disable the
vital options in the admin menu for that user. The secondary login option is
valuable if you want to give your client (the business) the option to update their own
inventory and product options without giving them free rein to alter or modify the server
paths, payment configs, etc.
Email Settings |
Program Selection
EDatCat uses one of three email programs to send notices, order confirmations,
messages, etc. to both the customers and the merchant. Specify the program you would
like to use to carry out this function. EDatCat Mail works with both Unix and Nt
servers.
Program Location
If you use SendMail (Unix) or BlatMail (NT), you must also specify the
server path to where these programs are located. BlatMail requires the full DOS path
to the mail program.

email settings.
Merchant Email
This is the email address which will used for the merchant. Orders
will be sent to this address.
From Email
This address will be used as the reply-to address in notices sent to the
customer from the program. Order confirmations and other notices sent automatically
will use this address so that the customer can respond easily.
Test Email
This address should be, in most cases, the admin's email address (or the
person setting up the store). When you Save your Program Settings, a test message
will be ent to this address to confirm that the email settings are working properly.
If you do not receive this test message, then something is wrong. Check your
Email Settings and be sure that they are correct.
